About the Author

Lou Ruzza is an author and lifelong student of human behavior. Over decades of building businesses and working with people, he became increasingly interested in how individual perspectives scale into collective systems—and how fear or trust at the personal level can shape the future we all share.

The Last Awakening is his first novel.

Born in Italy as Louis Cattaruzza, he came to New York with his family in 1957. His life has taken many turns—founding an investment bank, building an internet media company, and leading community initiatives and coaching—yet at this stage of life he has taken on a new challenge: becoming an author.

His writing grows out of the struggles, awakenings, and discoveries that helped him move from a fear-driven life to a deeply satisfying one. Over time, he came to see that kindness, caring, and gratitude are not abstract ideals, but real forces that shape our biology, our relationships, and the systems we build together.

He writes in the hope that what transformed his own life might offer clarity or comfort to others searching for meaning, healing, or a more joyful way to live. Writing now feels less like a career choice and more like a responsibility—one he carries with humility and gratitude.
